About

Hi! I am Jarek, and I am a coder since 1986, when my friend bought Atari 800 XL 🙂

I don’t like to write about myself, but this is “About” page so here we go.

I have spent last 12 years of my professional life in IT working as a database and system administrator, developer, architect, manager and “on site disaster engineer “. I was involved in small, medium and horribly nonsense large systems, from “waterfall” through Agile to “no methodology” methodology. It all lead me to conclusion that it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you do it right, keep it simple and use the right tool to do the job for you. In the meantime I fell in love in TDD, Software Craftmanship and beautiful and simple ideas like REST, JavaScript and NOSQL.

I’m a frequent speaker at conferences in Poland, so from time to time you can hear my low quality jokes about software architecture at conferences like Java Developers Day, 4Developers, 33rd Degree and so on.

Thanks to local time and space continuum distractions I find time to post to this blog, contribute in open source projects, meet with local software developers communities and play out loud heavy riffs 🙂

This blog is my playground where I play with my writing skills and express my personal views on software development, architectures and technology. If you are really looking for my professional background, check my LinkedIn profile
